The founding stone for the success of the British trademark was laid by John Chivers in 1805 when he planted his first fruit farm in Cambridge. Due to the positive feedback of the local jam producers, his son Stephen finally decided to produce jams himself. In 1873 the first jar of Chivers-Jam was produced.
